The Body Shop Instablur Launch Liverpool One Bloggers Event 2014
L-R: Laura, Rach, Helena, Roxanne, Laura, Sarah, Rachel and Me
This time last Tuesday I was given the opportunity to attend an event at The Body Shop in Liverpool One focussed around the launch of their new Instablur primer. Surrounded by six other local bloggers [LauraRachRoxanneLauraSarah and Rachel] we did a spot of beauty browsing in John Lewis before arriving at the store 6pm sharp and meeting Helena there.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely assistant manager Lauren, who was unfortunately not feeling too great but had still decided to come in for the event. At this point we were provided with small, thoughtful gift bags containing sample pots of various The Body Shop and The Perfume Shop treats - I ended up with the Blueberry Shower GelTea Tree Flawless BB CreamAloe Vera Gel and a sample of Thierry Mugler Angel EDP.

Their makeup artist, Libby, also gave us a small introduction to the story behind Instablur, which has a sort of liquid powder texture - similar to Benefit Porefessional, and different to the Matte It primer they also have. I've found a video on YouTube which explains Instablur very well - much better than if I'd try myself, take a look and see what you think? [Sidenote: I think it's a short film to guide TBS employees how to promote Instablur , but you do get to know more around the 55 second mark. To see the campaign behind it, watch this video instead... or both :)]

We were then allowed to explore every product in the store at our own pace; Roxanne had a demonstration with the Loose Powder Foundation while the rest of us looked around, deliberating which products not to place in our shopping baskets. I took advantage of the 40% offer, saving an incredible £17.20 and only spending £8.80.. having received £5 off from my 4th LYB stamp, and a generous £5 gesture of goodwill from Lauren.

All in all we all had a very good time getting to know our local The Body Shop store more, it was a lovely two hours spent with the incredible company we received from Lauren and Libby in addition to catching up with LauraRachHelenaRoxanneLauraSarah and Rachel. I can't wait to start using my Tea Tree Facial Toner; Blemish Fade Night Lotion; Big & Curvy Waterproof Mascara and the Facial Brush which I've heard nothing but good reviews so far.

Will you consider picking up Instablur?

  2. I'm definitely going to be buying this when I use up all my primers. My spending ban is stopping me from getting it in the meantime!

I'm actually not sure what I think.. as I've said in another TBS event post - I think I prefer Matte It over Instablur.. x
