My Top 3 Picks: Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter; Almond Hand and Nail Cream; Vineyard Peach Body Scrub
On Sunday I had the pleasure of attending an exclusive blogger event at The Body Shop Preston to celebrate their first year of being a Pulse Store! I'm still not too sure as to what a Pulse Store is, even after reading this article Rachelle, the organiser [also superb blogger] had directed me to.. but all I know is that she does an amazing job at it!

I don't live too far from Preston, but by train including transfers and walking to changes meant that in total it's around 2 hours each way.. but on the bright side I got to meet bloggers who I've yet to talk to in person such as Louise and Caroline. I also got to catch up with Zee who I'd met at #FabbLiverpool, as well as Naffy and Rachel who I've seen before at #NWBLpool.

Prior to everyone's arrival, St Georges, the shopping centre the store was based in had a big power cut which lasted for around an hour, but everything had thankfully returned to normal just before the event was due to start - otherwise we would've had a picnic-esque/park meetup! The weather was quite nice and the sun was out, so I don't think any of us would have minded.

Rachelle and The Body Shop Preston were incredibly generous to let us help ourselves to Prosecco and an array of yummy canapés, on top of allowing us bloggers to roam free in the store armed with four sample pots each to fill up with any products we wanted to try out. I ended up choosing the Vitamin E Facial Oil; Seaweed Pore Perfector; Hemp Hand Oil and the Matte It Skin Primer.

I think the event was actually to coincide with the launch of the new Instablur Primer which I had swatched in store, alongside the Matte It Skin Primer they also have [silly me forgetting to photograph that aspect..]. I didn't end up purchasing Instablur because I'm already struggling to use up the three I have on rotation at the minute.. and I'd also wanted to see how I got on with the sample of Matte It first. To be honest, the texture of Instablur is still a little strange to me, in an I'm-not-sure-whether-I-like-it-way.. it's not comparable to any other cream/barely liquid formulas I've tried before and is definitely worth visiting your local store to see for yourself.

When we had finished playing around with everything available - inhaling the yummy scents, swatching makeup on the backs of our hands and more, we headed off to the Mystery Tea House, a quirky little cafe tucked on the bottom of a side street not too far from the main shopping area.

Overall I had a brilliant time getting to know a little more about The Body Shop, it was so kind of them to allow us to play with all the products during opening hours, on top off giving me the chance to meet more bloggers in person! We were all so lucky to receive a blueberry bath sponge each, in addition to a renewed Love Your Body card which was super generous of them. Despite having my phone battery completely flat I was left on the train journey home with a huge smile on my face; White Musk Libertine EDP I'd picked up from taking advantage of the 40% bloggers discount [hey, it would be rude not to!] as well as my sample pots to go through again.

Have you ever tried any of The Body Shop products I've mentioned?
If not, which ones will you look into trying for yourself?

  4. I wish I could go to an event like that too but I haven't been invited in anything like that here in Greece. As for your top 3 picks, I absolutely love Almond Hand & Nails Cream and I have a tester of the Peach Body Scrub and it is awesome! Kisses!

  6. I have tried many of them! Tea tree oil is superb, Vitamine C microdermabrassion is an amazing face scrub, Vitamine E series has also some great products but they have parabens so I avoid them. I use the Honey Body Butter, Rainforest Radiance shampoo and many others! :-)
